Bill Bailey | American Artist


Bill Bailey completed a thirty-year career as an Electronics Engineer/Manager for the FAA. He simultaneously pursued a secondary avocation as an artist for several of those years and has devoted his full attention to painting since his retirement. Bill works primarily in watercolor, using various paper supports and techniques. He attempts to capture the Southern Landscape and people in his work.
He has won numerous awards in juried, regional, national and international competitions. His paintings hang in many corporate and private collections throughout the United States, including Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Smith & Nephew, Inc., Memphis Funeral Home in Memphis and Austin Peay University’s permanent collection in Clarksville, TN.




 He is a member of the Memphis/Germantown Art League, Artists’ Link, and a signature member both in Tennessee Watercolor Society and Mississippi Watercolor Society.
Bill’s art education has been primarily acquired through studies at the University of Memphis and participation in painting workshops with prominent teachers, eg. Frank Webb, Judi Betts, Cheng-Khee Chee and Milford Zornes.

  1. I have an original Bill Bailey watercolor that is 36x48 of a Scottish bagpiper. I'd like some more info on it's history and on Bill Bailey.
