Peter Marshall was born in 1964 in
Western Victoria. From the very beginning he was raised on a property at Kanya until age of seven which inclined him towards drawing and painting, especially the trees and plants growing around the property. He started to paint with watercolors at an early age of four and with oil colors at the age of nine. Till the age of seventeen he attended the Ronald Crawfoed School of Painting in Melbourne and then moved to Sydney to enhance his knowledge in painting and drawing. He won the Inaugural Sir William Dobell Scholarship for drawing in 1990.
Since 1981 he has accumulated near about sixty two awards for his art works and he has held many exhibitions of his art works.
